THE LISTENING COUNTRY

Each of us separate and on our island.

Vast seas distance us.

Yet we look up at the same moon and sun shining brightly above.

Energy connects us and gifts us a space to share. This energetic space transcends time, allowing all that needs to be to come through.

Our space crosses seas. It does not need one land to exist. Together we hold it in our minds and hearts and feel it from the bottom of our feet to the crown of our heads.

When we stop and suspend ourselves in time, we listen. Our voices are clearer and kinder. We notice what we didn’t before. Sharing feels right. Love is easy.

This listening that we are all learning to do creates a thin silver thread that connects us.

The thin silver thread is powerful.

It transmits our diversity, cultures, beliefs, and values to each other while keeping us connected.

A tailor uses a thin thread to create a garment from pieces of beautiful material.

We can use it too.

With this thread, we can sew customs through generation to generation, from the ones who were here before to the ones who are yet to be.

With this thread, we can create a country from beautiful spaces.

A country that crosses seas and does not need one land to exist. A country we hold in our minds and hearts and feel from the bottom of our feet to the crown of our heads.

Together we can create a listening country.
